Although technically that's a sort of good thing, meaning if you're making games professional then you're likely not competing with all the hobbyist games and prototypes that get put on Steam. So if you're a professional indie dev you're not competing with 18k games, just 5k, that's a positive. The post also has some estimates on how much money each game made, Balatro made $28M, Supermarket Simulator, TCG Card Shop Simulator and Chained Together all made millions. In terms of genres, if your goal is money then go for Simulator type games and not Puzzle Platformers.
