Most software development relies heavily on Git as its source of version control. Unfortunately, for game development Git and its workflows typically clashes with the demands that come from a team of more than just programmers. So, I usually suggest using alternatives like Unity Version Control, or Perforce due to its features like file-locking, exclusive checkouts and advanced merge tools.
Sometimes though, you can't pick your source control solution and you're stuck with Git. Enter Anchorpoint.
Anchorpoint is a Git-based version control system for artists and designers that extends Git where it falls short. It is designed to work with Unity, Unreal and art assets.
