The results of the first Stove 3D Modeling Contest are here! The community voted, and Konrad’s Wasp Queen took first place, winning a lifetime Cave Engine license. In this video, I react to the development process behind the winning model and see how it was modeled, painted, assembled, and finished entirely in Stove.
Watching an artist actually use Stove also gave me a lot of ideas for improving the software. I showcase upcoming features such as reference images, pen pressure for texture painting, better object selection, and discuss some of the most requested additions including keyboard remapping, Linux and Mac support, and future rigging and animation tools.
