Cave Engine is not vibe coded. It has been developed for over a decade, with development logs going back to 2015 and a codebase approaching half a million lines of code. In this video, I address some of the recurring comments about Cave, including claims that it is a Blender fork or an AI-generated game engine.
I also explain how I actually use AI around Cave today, mostly as a tool for debugging and investigating difficult problems, and show Cave CLI, the command-line interface that can remotely control the engine and can also be used with tools like Claude Code and Codex. AI can help the workflow, but it is not what built Cave Engine.
