I get it, my new game Card Corner runs in the corner of your screen while you work or watch videos, so it might look like a simple distraction. It's a follow-up to my previous game Desktop Defender, taking the passive, desktop idle vibe of games like Rusty's Retirement and Cornerpond and mixing it with the deep, roguelike deckbuilding of Balatro. But it's definitely not brainrot. I gave myself one rule when developing it: the game has to make you better at long-term strategy. You don't just add powerful cards, you actually modify your deck to change the mathematical probabilities of your poker hands. I even implemented the Monte Carlo algorithm into the game so you can estimate the expected value of your hands while you play! There is an in-game tip system to teach you the math, so you're actually learning while you procrastinate.
